Exim by Philip Hazel The unconfirmed error reports are from readers. They have not yet been approved or disproved by the author or editor and represent solely the opinion of the reader. Here's a key to the markup: [page-number]: serious technical mistake {page-number}: minor technical mistake : important language/formatting problem (page-number): language change or minor formatting problem ?page-number?: reader question or request for clarification This page was updated April 5, 2002. UNCONFIRMED errors and comments from readers: (42) Last paragraph but one - last but one line; The text refers to Figure 3-4, on page 43. It refers to "ovals" in the diagram, which do not show in the diagram. (44) 2nd paragraph (config example); The first line of the config example reads: local_delivery; Shouldn't this be: local_delivery: (e.g. colon rather than semicolon at end?) [65] 6th paragraph; In the section titled Limiting Message Sizes the book shows and example as follows: message_size_limit = 20 M the correct line is: message_size_limit = 20M A space before the the M will not allow the server to start. The space must be eliminated. [170] Near bottom...item listed with callout "OK"; Note: Type of error is really "Typo leading to technical nonsense" or something like that. The four UPPERCASE callouts at bottom of page 170 and top of page 171 should be 5, in the order OK, DECLINE, FORCEFAIL, DEFER, ERROR The text which should be associated with DECLINE is associated with OK, and the text for OK is missing. Comparing the book against the Exim specification makes the above error clear...reading the book led to a "what does Philip mean?" mental question. {255} First full paragraph; The paragraph begins "If return_message is specified..." But on page 253, the option is given as return message (no underscore) which agrees with other informtion, including the documentation files distributed with Exim. {332} The spreadsheet (sixed line) ; The 9780596000981-book described a option which is named "sender_relay". I suppose that the "sender_address_relay" option is meant, because 9780596000981 don't know an option called "sender_relay".
