(The figure shows the View tab, discussed on the next page). {14} 2nd paragraph under "Browse folders"; The beginning of the second sentence of this paragraph should read "For example, if you've opted to Open each folder in the same window" Page 16 Second paragraph - change "Explorere.exe" to "Explorer.exe." Page 38 The filename in step 3, "filename.ext," should appear italicized (replaceable style). Page 46 Figure 2-5: "fincances" should read "finances" Page 54 Second-to-last paragraph - change "titlbar" to "titlebar" Page 61 Second paragraph - change "Mantenance" to "Maintenance" Page 64 Last paragraph - change "Figure 2-8 shows" to "Figures 2-8 and 2-10 show" Page 69 Third paragraph - change "there's on a single" to "there's a single" Page 140 The caption under Figure 4-12 mentions the "default View option." This text should read, "default Preview option." (174) Second Paragraph title; The section is titled "Clean our your Temp folder" It should be "Clean out your Temp folder." Page 185 The last sentence of the NtfsDisableLastAccessUpdate section should read: You can stop Windows from updating the "last accessed" date for folders every time they're opened by changing this value to 1 (the default is zero), which should improve drive performance. This setting has no effect on files. Page 192 The LargeSystemCache listvariable should be in constant-width font. (201) end of 1st sentence; "...tend to be more reliable, and certainy consume less desk space." should read: "...tend to be more reliable, and certainly consume less desk space." Page 201 Fifth line of the "A Word About Native Resolution" sidebar - there's an errant comma here. The text should read, "to display other, lower resolutions, either" Page 242 Second paragraph - change "responded" to "respond." (265) Para 2 of "Video Cards (Display Adapters)" section; Minor typo at start of third sentence: "CoFigure 6-1mmon chipset" should be: "Common chipset" Page 277 The last sentence (only) of the second paragraph under "Keyboards" (which refers Appendix B) should read as follows: This can be done by setting the appropriate option in your BIOS (see Appendix B), but you may also have to set the InitialKeyboardIndicators Registry value, found in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Keyboard, to 0 for off or 2 for on. Page 282 First paragraph - change "306GB" to "30GB" Page 284 Last paragraph - "euphamism" should read "euphemism" Page 356 Local Users and Groups (lusrmgr.msc) only works in Windows XP Pro. Page 375 Add the following to Step 3 under "Hide the last-typed username:" If the value exists, it may be a DWORD value. Either value type is supported here. Page 397 The RunProgram subroutine (the last four lines in Example 9-1) is wrong. It should read the same as the RunProgram subroutine on the top of page 400. {414} last line of both the 4 line scripts on that page; The last line of those scripts have instead of (462) line 24; "and you need to the dual boot capability" should be "and you need to add the dual boot capability" (466) Second paragraph - "you won't be able to access your from from" Should be: "you won't be able to access your hard disk from" Page 467 In the first paragraph in the "Activating Windows XP" section, the word "wasn't" should be "weren't."
