PC Annoyances 2nd Ed - Review, May 20 2005
Just purchased 2nd edition (at one of the big bookstore chains) and I am really enjoying it. There are so many handy tools out there that are not always so easy to find. This book rocks!
PC Annoyances, 2nd Edition is a MUST HAVE, May 05 2005
I purchased the book PC Annoyances, 2nd Edition and I have to say I just love it. I thinks it is one of the best purchases I ever made. I am
really interested in computer security because I was hacked 4 years ago by the same person 3 times. Since then I have tried to learn everything I can about computer security.
This is by far one of the easiest books to understand. It gives you step by step instructions and the best part is all the links it gives you to free programs. I think one of my favorite programs is the one that makes
spammers think you do not exist because you can send them a fake bounce back email.
This is one book that I would totally recommend for everyone to purchase. Even people with little knowledge of computers will still understand this easy to read book.
Go get this book now!, May 02 2005
Go get this book - now. Mr. Bass has added new material to an already prize-worthy publication. For instance he has considerably expanded the Windows chapter which now includes XP service pack 2. And once again, even though I live in MS Office, I have to admit I learned a few gems!
Theres very little from the first edition missing in this second edition. That tells me PC annoyances are not going away, there are just more to come - a big ouch for us. But a big thanks to Steve Bass for once again creating a valuable reference that is also fun and entertaining. Unfortunately for us his work will never be done! Bravo Steve!
Paid for itself in five minutes!, April 25 2005
After reading PC Annoyances for only a couple of minutes, I had found solutions to several nagging problems. This book contains an excellent range of topics, and the side bars contain some really handy productivity enhancing tips and suggestions.
Great Reading! Great solutions to annoyances!, April 20 2005
Received your new book (PC Annoyances 2nd Ed) yesterday. I was going to wait a couple weeks after I returned from a trip to read it, but decided to give it a look-through. Am glad I did!
Some items that jumped out when just glancing through book: AOL, p.19+ (yes, I use AOL); Protect your system from dumb installations, p. 62; Skip the registration, p. 92; Buying Online? Play it safe, p. 93and I could go on. Really like the extra info in the boxes too.
Im going to take this book with me on the plane as my reading material. Thanks for writing it.

As so much is covered, youre bound to find something applicable to your PC experience...The breadth of information contained within the book is quite impressive, but whats equally striking is the matter of fact, down to earth tone, Bass employs."
