If you have technical questions or error reports, you can send them to booktech@oreilly.com. Please specify the printing date of your copy. This page was updated April 15, 2008. Here's a key to the markup: [page-number]: serious technical mistake {page-number}: minor technical mistake : important language/formatting problem (page-number): language change or minor formatting problem ?page-number?: reader question or request for clarification Confirmed errors: [92] Figure 4-10; the diagram should change to show a Data 1 rather than a Data 0 in the transition from Tree Start to Traversal Mute. {236} First paragraph under Table A-5; "For our example, this value would be 4. The Company Prefix is next (27 bits), followed by Asset Type (encoded in 17 bits)." This should read: "For our example, this value would be 5. The Company Prefix is next (24 bits), followed by Asset Type (encoded in 20 bits)." The previous page refers to the partition value as 5 and the actual encoding shown is partition 5. Also, checksums are appended to the end of the hex string in messages returned from readers. This is a difference between the early spec in 2005 and the current implementations. So all examples would now have the checksum at the end. This example should now read: "3354257BBF40C0E40000849EA4FF7" instead of: "4FF73354257BBF40C0E40000849EA"
