thank you for donating this great book!
it has been a great help to a long term Quark user and beginning In-Design user. The video lessons along with the exercises in the book plus the tests at the end of each chapter make it seem as if you are in class with a teacher. It is a very through system of learning.
i won the book at an In-Design Users group meeting in Orlando, Florida and did not know what a prize that I had!
Quark really has to step up to the plate. In-design gives such precise movement to the smallest detail that it is amazing..
Thank you, Mr. McClelland!!!

This book is a fabulous "teacher." The video clips followed by the exercises made InDesign more manageable and understandable for me. I do not use InDesign to its fullest and Deke showed how to better utilize the InDesign "power." I won this book as a door prize at the Orlando InDesign Group meeting. I am so glad I attended the meeting because I definitely understand InDesign much better now. Judy Grieve, Orlando FL

At last I've found a book that I can really learn from. Deke's lessons stick in my mind and I feel I can really engage with real world projects. The demonstrationson the DVD focus your mind for lessons in the book.
I'm not a pro designer but the book is pitched at the right level and the book reads like a conversation, rather than a lesson. I can pace since though each chapter covers a lot everything is in managable chunks.
The sample lessons are reaalistic but more importantly fun and as said give you confidence that "hey I can do this". The text and I really do mean the type is readable and the screen shots are detailed and clear.
This is the first software book that I am learning from and yes I will be buying Photoshop CS2 1:1 when I finish this book on In-Design.

"
Adobe InDesign CS2 One-on-One is 528 pages of extremely intuitive training for Adobes page-layout application. It truly is the book I wish I had when I first started using InDesign several years ago...OReilly has a well-known reputation of publishing quality books with very helpful information, tutorials, and support material.
Adobe Indesign CS2 One-on-One is no exception."
-- Lee Bennett,
About This Particular Macintosh (ATPM)
"A book/media package that delivers personal training via a full-color, step-by-step guide supported by a two hour DVD-ROM produced by Total Training, and presented by the author, publishing expert Deke McClelland. The text is arranged in a course fashion, and presented as if the author were teaching the reader in a formal training environment. This is an excellent way to get guided hands-on instruction. The book is beautifully designed and a joy to read or skim. Any Adobe InDesign CS2 user would find something new and interesting in this well-done volume."
-- Michael Kleper, The Kleper Report on Digital Publishing
"What I like about Adobe InDesign CS2 One-On-One is that not only is it a great learning tool that reinforces what you are learning, by showing and explaining, but it takes its time to do so. These are not short chapters. At 528 pages the average lesson is 30 to 40 pages in length. There is a lot of information, but you have the time to learn at your own pace."
