Here's a key to the markup: [page-number]: serious technical mistake {page-number}: minor technical mistake : important language/formatting problem (page-number): language change or minor formatting problem ?page-number?: reader question or request for clarification Confirmed errors: Note for Mac users: There's only one version of QB for Mac: QuickBooks 2006 Pro for Mac. None of the Basic or Enterprise Editions work on Mac. As for the online services: QuickBooks Payroll (Intuit's own): NO MAC, but there are now 2 3rd party services that Inuit is working with. Here are the URLs: www.macpayroll.com and www.aatrix.com. These companies have created features that QB for Mac lacks and might be a viable alternative for Mac users. Their sites look really good! QuickBooks Merchant Accounts/Credit Cards, Online Bill Pay, Online Billing (Intuit's own): NO MAC, but QB for Mac owners can download transactions from their own credit cards and banks IF the bank uses a service called Web Connect. The only way to find out is by visiting the bank's Web site. (AMEX does, Wells Fargo doesn't, for example.) {316} Note:; The note on Page 316 states that if you have a state tax, you must use the QB Enhanced Payroll program. That is not true. I am using QB Standard Payroll with QB 2006 in the state of Montana, where we do have a state income tax. The withholding is all done automatically by QB. The only thing the Standard Payroll does not do is prepare the state reports. This error is also repeated on Page 331 in the "Note" at the bottom of the page.
