Here's a key to the markup: [page-number]: serious technical mistake {page-number}: minor technical mistake : important language/formatting problem (page-number): language change or minor formatting problem ?page-number?: reader question or request for clarification Confirmed errors: (xviii) 2nd paragraph, under "Part 3"; remove "that" from "each topic has a logic that makes it easy to understand once you've worked with (that) it..." (xviii)5th paragraph; missing an "r" in the word "learning" -- "Appendix C, Lea_ning More, provides good starting points..." (50) 2nd paragraph; The policy name has been changed from "Wikipedia:User account policy" to "Wikipedia:Username policy". And where the text says "type WP:UN into the search box", it should say "type WP:U into the search box". {78} Third item in the bulleted list; The page "Wikipedia:Articles requested for more than two years", no longer exists. The line should be struck. [107] Last paragraph in the sidebar (workaround workshop); Wikipedia software changed in April 2008; some wording needs to be adjusted. The last sentence in the paragraph should now read: "But it may be worthwhile to monitor important images: If an editor changes an image by uploading a new one (page 271), which can be vandalism, the change will show up on your watchlist report if you've put the image page on your watchlist." (130) 2nd paragraph; For gender consistency, since the first sentence says "her ways", the rest of the paragraph should be changed: * Instead of "they did", say "she did" * Instead of "his ways", say "her ways" Also, in the third line of the paragraph, there is a typo: "aren't like to" should be "aren't likely to" (258) Note; The Wikipedia page name has changed, as has the preferred shortcut: it is now: Wikipedia:Categories, lists, and navigational templates (shortcut: WP:CLN) (326) Step 2; "Figure 17-3 is an example" should be "Figure 17-2 is an example" (337) 1st paragraph; The guideline cited in the first sentence has changed, as has the preferred shortcut; it is now: Wikipedia:Categories, lists, and navigational templates (shortcut: WP:CLN) {388} "Skin" section (bottom of page); In both of the paragraphs, "seven" should be changed to "eight". Also, given that the first sentence of the second paragraph is totally redundant, please consider striking it entirely. [389] Figure 20-6 and the first full sentence below it; In figure 20-6, the wording should be "plus seven other choices", and the list of choices should read "... Cologne Blue, Modern, MySkin, ... " The sentence that starts "Figure 20-6" should read "Figure 20-6 shows the eight different skins that you can choose from. Figure 20-6 needs to be reshot. [419] Section titled "Help"; "(page 448)" should be "(pages 447-449)" (442) "Images" section; The words "even articles uploaded" should be "even images uploaded" (446) Caption of Figure B-20; The reference to "Figure C-14" should be "Figure B-19" (464) In the topic "help"; There are two entries for "Help: Contents page"; the second, which includes the shortcut "(WP:HELP)" is the correct one; it should be changed to end "419, 447" and the other entry (for page 419) should be deleted. (472) Left column, part of the "shortcuts" topic that begins on page 470; The entries "biographies of living people" and "requested articles" are already included in the topic, but in the correctly place (ordered by the shortcut, such as WP:RA, not by the name of the shortcut). These two entries are therefore both duplicates and in the wrong place. By contrast, the entry "user scripts (WP:SCRIPTS) should be moved to a different place in the topic after it is reworded as "(WP:SCRIPTS) user scripts"
