On one of the pages, the author describes the differences between the way Journal keeps track of project time and the way MS Word keeps track of Editing Time. The author mentioned that Word keeps track of editing time as the amount of time spent physically pressing keys in a document; while Journal keeps track of the amount of time a document is open, regardless of typing. Editing Time in Word is also a measure of the time a document is open and not the time spent typing.
