Account Lockout Threshold

"Account Lockout Threshold Use this policy to specify the number of invalid logon attempts that trigger an account lockout. When enabled, the default value is 5, but you can set it to 999. The number of invalid logons must occur within the period specified in the Reset Account Lockout Counter After policy."

Finding that the default value is incorrect.

From Group Policy Manager, Account lockout threshold Properties, Explain "You can set a value between 0 and 999 failed logon attempts. If you set the value to 0, the account will never be locked out." ... "Default: 0."

I would think it important to change this value from the default of 0.

Note from the Author or Editor:

Add to bullet point paragraph on account lockout threshold: (after ... Reset Account Lockout Counter After policy.")

A value of 0 will mean that account lockout will not be triggered.

Note from the Author or Editor:

Missing Information

The processing of GPOs is missing the Domain Level information. On page 249 the PDF steps down from the Site Level directly to the OU Level. The Domain Level information has been omitted.

Note from the Author or Editor:
Add the following bullet point on page 249 under figure 5-12 but before the Organizational unit bullet point

Domain. Settings applied at the domain level override settings applied at the site and local levels. You can link multiple GPOs at the domain level. The Default Domain Policy is linked at this level.
