CH 16

Hi,

On the missing manuals page, the link for CH 16 to Get The Glass isn't working anymore. The domain gettheglass.com seems to be hijacked by spammers! There's still a version of the game here: http://www.crazygames.com/game/get-the-glass.

Have a nice day!

Steve

The labels "Bulleted list" and "Numbered list" should be "Unordered List" and "Ordered List," respectively, to match the screen tips in Dreamweaver and to be consistent with step 23 on page 62.

It appears that the screenshot is the wrong one.

Figure 5-1

The image in Figure 5-1 does not bear any relation to the description. e.g. It should be showing something to do with specifying a site address, with information circled as described in the adjoining text. Instead it shows an image suspiciousy like Figure 4-24.

Otherwise, a realy enjoyable and informative read. Thanks!

bullet point 11 on the third paragraph

On page 214 you ask us to change the width of the ul.MenuBarHorizontal li styel from 8 em to 125 px when you do that the "Meet the Vets" link pulls over into two columns, when I change the width of the rule from 125 px to "auto" the "Meet the Vets" link became flush with all the other nav links

end of step 9 (half way down page)

I have followed all the instructions for the menu but when previewed in IE9 the submenus do not appear. They do in Live View and when previewed in Chrome and Firefox. This is just on my version of the tutorial - when i preview the finished version downloaded from your site, that one works fine in IE9. Is there a step missing here for IE browsers? I cant see any difference between my CSS code and the finished version supplied.

Items 9-10

I followed all the steps under Submenus and Rollover Buttons, but for some reason when I do the rollover the buttons don't change colors. When I hit F12, I can't access the submenus. I hit F12 on the Finished version, and that worked fine. Keep in mind, though, I just upgraded to Dreamweaver CS6. Is it possible that the steps are different now?

I posted this message earlier, but you can disregard it now: "I followed all the steps under Submenus and Rollover Buttons, but for some reason when I do the rollover the buttons don't change colors. When I hit F12, I can't access the submenus. I hit F12 on the Finished version, and that worked fine. Keep in mind, though, I just upgraded to Dreamweaver CS6. Is it possible that the steps are different now?"

I was able to solve the problem in part by changing the color selections to make the rollover more obvious, and in part by noticing there was an Internet Explorer error message after I hit F12 stating that IE restricted this page from running scripts or ActiveX controls. When I clicked the Allow Blocked Content button, it fixed the problem and I could access the submenus.

It states that "The Jump Menu Go action (available on the Behaviors panel) is useful ...."

In Dreamweaver CS5.5, I could not locate the "Jump Menu Go" action in the Behaviors panel. Could you please clarify this paragraph. Thanks.

1

PHP code listed in book causes syntax error in Dreamweaver Code view. The culprit seems to be the curly bracket on line 2 or line 7, once removed the Syntax error disappears, however, the intended programming then doesn't work.
