Despite what your book says, there is no Advanced Search facility on Facebook. Maybe there was at one time. You can combine certain search types, such as name: steven matthysse gender: male, but only very limited combinations are allowed. Your book does not anywhere mention this possibility or the syntax that is allowed, but in any case it is a weak search facility. For example, name: steven matthysse groups: computers is not allowed. The end result of the absence of an advanced search facility, for me as a potential user, is loss of interest in Facebook. Indeed, I bought your manual because it described an advanced search facility; I would not have bought it if I had known that the facility did not exist. If I am missing something myself, please tell me. Otherwise my opinion of O'Reilly Media will go down a little, which is too bad because I have had many good experiences with your more technical "nutshell guides".

In bold print it says "On the left side of any Facebook screen, click the down arrow next to Search, and
then click Advanced Search." but there is no Advanced Search tab or option.
