by putting the following LISP code in a file named .emacs in your home
directory:

To make room for this, I deleted the empty lines in the code example
in the box.

{62}: Ex. 4-3, line -2: changed "square" to "rectangle"
[70]: deleted text from "A set of curly braces" to "dimension 4."
{99}: in the box: changed "23" in the 7th line from the bottom to "- 23"

(195): 2nd line from bottom: changed "it's" to "its"; 5th line from
bottom: changed "elment" to "element"

{279}: last code block: changed all "item"s to "node" (4 in all)
(383): 1st code, line 1: changed "delcaration" to "declaration"
