A MUST for any Perl Programmer (or perl hobbiest). You get some of the best perl books at a fraction of the cost (since you can always print the book off of the CD).

I use it everyday at work. The Perl Cookbook and Advanced Perl are my faivorites and a must for anyone who uses Perl everyday.

Re: About Searching your DC Bookshelf on a Macintosh.

Since the Mac OS comes with Sherlock, a Find facility that can index and then search files by content, I find that Sherlock does a completely satisfactory job of searching your wonderful CD bookshelf. You might note that fact on those O'Reilly book covers that indicate one can't search a CD Bookshelf with a Mac.

This is a great collection of perl books from Oreilly,
and the layout is great on the CD. It is definitely
worth the money, if not worth more, for people like me
who can't carry that many books everywhere. All the
books I carried were crushing my laptop. I am very
happy with this product.

The search function is difficult to get working because
it requires a java server application to run on a higher
port to answer the queries. With Linux, it takes a little
time, but perhaps with jdk-1.x you should be okay.

Oreilly books are awesome.

This is an amazing reference! I've got all three CD Bookshelf sets. ORA has outdone themselves!

This particular set is ideal for any level Perl programmer.

Hint: bn.com is selling it for 25% off.

What's the drawback of a book? You can't search it! The search engine provided is cumbersome, but you CAN search. The price is only slightly more than only one of the books in the set! A must have...
