Photoshop in a Nutshell, 2nd Edition by Donnie O'Quinn Unconfirmed error reports are from readers. They have not yet been approved or disproved by the author or editor and represent solely the opinion of the reader. This page was updated April 9, 2002 Here's a key to the markup: [page-number]: serious technical mistake {page-number}: minor technical mistake : important language/formatting problem (page-number): language change or minor formatting problem ?page-number?: reader question or request for clarification UNCONFIRMED errors and comments from readers: [10] fourth bullet item under Common Uses; Under Common Uses the author states, " Refer to Appendix A for full description of the following..." for the fourth bullet item which states, "Cloning a selection, channel, or layer" I cannot find its description on page 499 which is the third page of Appendix A. The first three bullet items are there but the fourth seems to miss out. {63} 4th paragraph; 5 by 5 Average sample is described as nine-pixel square. It should be 25-pixel square. (eyedropper tool) (156, 182, 214) Page 156 and the first bulleted item on page 182 reads: "Yellow is a combination of red and green. Reducing those two colors is the same as reducing yellow." This seemingly is in conflict with a sentence on page 214. Under the heading "Image: Adjust: Color Balance," the second sentence of the third bulleted item now reads: "Referring to the RGB/CMY color wheel, you can subtract yellow by adding red and green." If there is a contradiction, which page is in error? (I suspect it is the latter page.) {280} The first bulleted item after the heading "Comman Errors" refers to the "Select: Hide Edges" command. I could not find any "Select: Hide Edges" command, at least on the IBM-compatible versions of Photoshop 4. I did, however, find a "View:Hide Edges" command. Which is the correct command?
