Subject: What about hard covers?

I'm the type who likes to invest well in the best and hope to exploit my investment for many years to come.

Therefore, I like to buy hard-covers (and willing to pay the extra), so they last much longer.

As far as I've seen, I don't remember any book by you which is offered in hard cover. (I'm looking at Advanced Perl Programming right now.

Do you plan to offer hardcover editions? Or do you offer them and I just missed it?

Thanks,

--Amos

Amos,

We did this once for our PHIGS programming books, and we found that the demand for the hardcover was far less than for the softcover. Still, you make a good point. For instance, we've had many customers tell us that they've worn out several copies of Programming Perl.

People can send me email listing the titles they'd like to see in hardcover. That way we can get a sense of the demand, and then try it for a few books.
