It looks like there will be a large overlap of the contents of the Unix & Win32 editions. How about a converter pack so I don't have to waste money on two copies of the common stuff.(forgive the suggestion that any money spent on O'Reilly books could be a waste :-)
There's actually not as much in common between the two Perl Resource Kits (Unix and Win32) as you might think. The software on the CD in the Win32 kit is vastly different from that in the UnixKit. (The Win32 CD contains a lot of new commercial Win32 Perl features and tools. Also, the Win32 CD will contain Perl 5.005, which is not on the Unix CD.) In terms of the book sets, the Perl Module Reference is the only place where the two Kits cover some of the same material. However, the majority of the modules in the Win32 Kit are different from those in the Unix Kit.
As a result, at this point we don't have plans for an "upgrade path" between the Unix Perl Resource Kit and the Win32 Perl Resource Kit.
