Subject: Book update cycle?
Hi Tim,
I wonder just how often O'Reily updates their title with new edition? I took a look at the Pthread edition today. It was published in September '96. This has been over two years. New edition due any time soon?

Steven,
Pthreads Programming is not on the update list. We try to keep all of our books up to date, but a lot depends on how well the book is selling, how committed the author is, etc.
For example, if an author moves on to another topic and the book is a bestseller, we'll find someone else to update it. But if it's a mid-list book, this may be farther down the priority list. Sad, since we used to pride ourselves on updating our books every six to twelve months, but as we get larger, that's harder and harder to keep up with.
