Subject: Win95 in a Nutshell question
Hello Tim et. al.,
On pages 65-66 of "Windows 95 in a Nutshell" there is a discussion of setting shortcut properties for DOS programs. In Figures 3-15 and 3-16, the examle program in the picture is "Korn Shell". What is this?? Is there a korn shell like command interpreter for DOS? If so, this would be like a childhood dream of mine coming true!! Any info you can provide would be *greatly* appreciated.
Thanks,
Alex Balk
Alex,
Yes, of course you can get the Korn Shell for Windows NT, Windows 95 and Windows 98. It's available, along with a fairly complete set of other UNIX utilities, from MKS Systems. For that matter, it's also available for DOS and Windows 3.1. The list price is $399.
I have to say, in looking at their site, that they've done a pretty good job of hiding any information about their products! So a better URL might be http://www.mks.com/order/#mkstk.
