He was co-founder & chair of the Velocity Web Performance & Operations Conference and was a contributor to the O'Reilly Radar. Prior to Chef he served as Amazon's “Master of Disaster” where he was responsible for website availability for every property bearing the Amazon brand. Robbins is a Volunteer Firefighter and Emergency Manager, and led a task force deployed in Operation Hurricane Katrina. When not building companies or putting out fires he can be found sailing, diving, and skiing.
