Mike Dory

Bio

I've spent the last decade studying the ways people communicate and working to make their conversations better. I have worked with brands, agencies, and start-ups to build social applications and platforms that connect users with their friends, their devices, and the world around them. I am the Managing Director at kbs+ | Spies & Assassins, an award-winning creative technology boutique, playing with platforms, applications, experiences and advertising across mobile, social, emerging platforms, the web, and at retail and physical locations. Prior to joining kbs+, I co-founded the social technology agency Socialbomb (acquired by Refinery29 in 2013), and served as its CTO four years. In addition to my work with Socialbomb, I've developed installations, sites, and games for Unified Field and the Institute of Play. I hold a BA in Journalism & Media Studies from Rutgers University and an MPS in Interactive Telecommunications from NYU ITP, where I have also been an adjunct professor.
