Bio

Brett Hagman received his Computer Engineering degree from University of Manitoba in 1996. During his continuing years as a practicing Computer Engineer, he has designed electronics ranging from electronics for the banking industry to educational microelectronics boards. Brett's software expertise ranges from firmware development for various microcontrollers to complex back-end server software. His hardware designs have been used for NASA and aerospace projects, medical devices, banking, transit services, traffic control, and robotics, among a wide variety of other projects.

As an eternal entrepreneur, Brett has been involved in many start-up companies such as a banking terminal hardware company, an online payment systems company, and, his current venture, Rogue Robotics, an electronics design and manufacturing company.

Brett enjoys being part of the open-source community, and is a lead member of Wiring, an open-source electronics prototyping platform. As a result, he has made many contributions to the Arduino community as well. In addition, he is spearheading an open-source microelectronics curriculum for educators.
