Bio

At the age of eight, Stefan taught himself how to write simple programs on his father's ATARI 800 with his first book (on learning the basics of ATARI). While he could not yet read all of the words, typing in commands and learning through trial and error became, and remains today, Stefan's path of learning.

It was O’Reilly’s "camel book", Programming Perl that Stefan credits for teaching him his first professionally viable skills, which landed him a job at Warptec, a firm specialized in audio processing and meteorological analysis as a Perl engineer.

With over twelve years of industry experience, and a specialization in algorithms and software architecture, Stefan has worked on projects ranging from game architecture, over developing sound localization algorithms for Rainforest Connection to consultancy for Redheads Ltd.

In addition to his first loves -- programming and computer science -- Stefan has also served as a teacher at the Community College Bamberg, and has taken classes in law and social sciences at the University of Cambridge.
