Bio

Simon's first IT job in 1986 was developing software for dial-a-ride and community transport operators using the PICK operating system and DataBASIC. He worked closely with a group of end-users in what would now be considered an Agile project using a NoSQL multi-value database!

Since then, he has worked as an analyst programmer and project manager for a PICK software company, taught analysis and design and researched computational intelligence as a university lecturer, written two books on UML, worked as an information systems consultant for a subsidiary of Ericsson, and as a systems architect and enterprise architect for Celesio, he has headed up the IT for a department of Leicester City Council and most recently before becoming self-employed, was Head of Business Engagement and Architecture at De Montfort University in Leicester, UK.

He now provides training and consultancy and has recently run courses on user stories and software architecture, carried out an architecture review and modelled business processes.
