Many companies suffer from a disconnect between development and marketing, but the sad fact is that the fields are merging. In order to stay competitive in an increasingly changing landscape it is truly beneficial to add SEO as part of the web developers' arsenal of tools. This webcast is for developers looking to enhance their skills with regard to SEO and the requisite tools. Just as developer skills have evolved past simpleHTML, the skill-sets of marketers have changed dramatically in the past few years. In most cases, learning just a few new concepts will help you communicate and operate more effectively with your cohorts, the marketeers.
These skills are of great value for developers who want to work for startups or take on more of a leadership role within their organization. As a former developer, I will explain the major features and benefits of aligning developer skills with SEOs.

An example: SEO is often an engineering exercise of sorts. There are many tools available to help and decipher what's trending and what's trash. However, a technical mindset is an advantage when going through the exercise of identifying keywords to target. Thought must be given to what potential visitors are searching for in various phases, from research to signup. When beginning target keyword identification it's important to consider all of the possibilities for search. Long tail keywords should not be ignored, because they comprise 70% of total searches. It's not as common for someone to search the same group of simple 'power' keywords than it is to search for a phrase with variations.
