After 11 years, more than 125 thousand installations, over 7 million jobs, and a thousand plugins, Jenkins is finally hitting version 2.0! Jenkins has long been the de facto standard open source tool for continuous integration (CI). With built-in support for delivery pipelines with the Pipeline plugin, version 2.0 seeks to extend Jenkins beyond CI to become the de facto engine driving continuous delivery (CD) as well.
Patrick Wolf offers an overview of what's new in Jenkins 2.0, demonstrates how to configure traditional jobs and orchestrate delivery pipelines, and discusses where Jenkins is going in the future.
