Description:

To reshape the future of healthcare technology services, athenahealth knew they needed to unlock the data trapped in a monolithic stack built with homegrown tooling around an Oracle database. Simple data queries took minutes, which made building the data-driven services they needed impossible. Any net-new services couldn’t be tied to this legacy infrastructure.

The engineering team at athenahealth designed a new architecture that allowed the organization to stream data from the legacy database to a new modern application stack. By installing DC/OS clusters on both its on-premise datacenter and public clouds, athenahealth was able to create a unified infrastructure layer and resource pool to stream, transform, and store its network data in a graph database.

In this webcast attendees will learn how to:

  • Overcome limitations presented by legacy systems, and leverage a modern application stack, reducing data queries from minutes to milliseconds
  • Build fast data pipelines within the constraints of the healthcare industry, including security and compliance requirements
  • Use technology like DC/OS to solve many of the problems related to building and operating distributed applications
