Santa Barbara, CA—November 27, 2012—Rocky Nook, Santa Barbara's leading publisher of books on the techniques and aesthetics of digital photography, has released The Sony Alpha NEX-7: The Unofficial Quintessential Guide by authors Carol F. Roullard and Dr. Brian Matsumoto. New users are shown how to master this complex and powerful camera, with everything covered from the basic features of the NEX-7 to numerous advanced photographic applications.

Features and capabilities of the camera are explored in a way that far surpasses the user's manual, guiding the reader through the camera features with step-by-step setting adjustments and detailed how, when, and why explanations for each option. Every button, dial, switch, and menu configuration setting is explored in a way that is user-friendly, with suggestions and tips for setup according to various shooting styles. The text is illustrated with screenshots and example images throughout so readers can easily follow along.

The first section of the book teaches new users to start taking pictures immediately using the camera's Intelligent Automatic mode. The second section covers how to begin taking more control by switching to the semi-automatic modes. Finally, the third section covers how to take full manual control of the camera, and how to break some "rules" and capture images that are a unique reflection of creativity.

The Sony Alpha NEX-7: The Unofficial Quintessential Guide shows users how to take control of the camera, push the envelope, and have fun.
