Last sentence and Step 4

Because the page layout has changed, instructions for finding links on the catalog page need to be updated.

On page xiv
"Click the Companion Content link on that page under the book cover image. When a list of files appears, locate and download the examples zip file."

Should change to something like:
"Click the Companion Content link on that page in the Essential Links section. When a list of files appears, locate and download the examples zip file "

"4 On your book?s catalog page, under the cover image, you?ll see a list of links "

Should be something like:

"4 On your book?s catalog page, in the Essential Links section, you?ll see a list of links."

The URL http://oreilly.com/catalog/9780735639027 takes the reader to the book's catalog page rather than the landing page for the companion content. Please replace that URL with this one: http://examples.oreilly.com/9780735639027-files/

Step 1, Step 6-9, and Step 11

The section entitled "Using PHP with the Expression Development Server" on page 71, step one instructs to download the Windows Installer "thread Safe" version. At the site listed, it has the ZIP file and a Windows Installer file. Expression Web help tells to to download the ZIP file. Which one does the instruction in the book refer to?

Under page 73 steps 6-9, instructions were to use Windows Explorer and access the file via Properties. When my Properties dialog box appears, I DO NOT have the Security or Previous Versions tabs. So I bypassed those steps.

Under page 74, step 11, instructions were to add the php-cgi.exe file to Expression Web via Applications Options. When I did, and got to step 17 on page 75, to preview the page, I received an error and nothing came up concerning the .ini file.

I am using Windows XP Service Pack 3. What am I doing wrong?

Note from the Author or Editor:
Want to re-write the PHP installation part and note a video. This issue seems to be a common thread among posters to this board.

2 paragraph

You should consider placing a screen print that shows the result of completing step 2 found on page 146. After completeing this step, my page only has the following language/code: <%@ Control Language="C#" ClassName="WebUserControl1" %>. This language is found on line one and there is no other code on the entire page. When I complete step 6 and view the screen print, I see that code exists up to line 13 before I should cut and paste code on lines 15 through 20.

Does my Expression Web4 program have a bug? Or does the book fail to show that I should write more code prior to completing step 6.

Note from the Author or Editor:
Add a screenshot or adjust the text

Figure in middle of page

The output in the Design Pane of the application after step #4 does not show circles and discs for the <ul> items' bullets. I think this is due to the CSS sheet that is linked in to the Chapter4.html file. If the same actions are performed on a clean Untitled_1.html tab (i.e. no CSS sheet is linked to it) then yes, the <ul> bullets look as shown in the screenshot in the book.

Note from the Author or Editor:
Need a source file change to disconnect from the main style sheet. note made in stylesheet.

Last Paragraph

auto-style2 has suffered the same fate as auto-style1 earlier in the chapter. Could it be something to do with the fact that the icon below the "apply styles" panel shows "CSS Mode: Manual" or is chapter 4 suffering from something that has happened in service pack 2? There have been changes to a so-far unmentioned style sheet called "main.css" that have prompted the "save embedded files" popup and ew4 automatically changed the picture file type to .jpg .....

Version 4.0.1303.0 SP2

Note from the Author or Editor:
Need to add text directing reader to the correct CSS application mode.
a. Readers coming off track. Make sure the steps are clear, add a callout element to show the potential for not selecting the right element before the style is applied.
