URL http://dev/rubyonrails.org/timeline appears to be out of
date. https://rails.lighthouseapp.com/timeline seems to require
more than simple registration. Is there a good place to
find this now?

URL has changed since the publication of the book, and it looks like the Rails folks didn't redirect. The correct URL now is https://rails.lighthouseapp.com/projects/8994-ruby-on-rails.

Footnote says: "...treat series of server response times as i.i.d. random variables."

What does 'i.i.d.' mean/stand for?
