In the "Confirmed Corrections"

This is a "correction of the Confirmed Corrections."

An Anonymous reader corrected the 4:3 ratio definition. However, the approving Author responded with this:

Whoops! That's right. The text should read "So if you [sic] screen is 4 feet wide, it's 3 feet high."

No, no, no... it would still be "your screen," not "you screen," regardless of how you might say the words in everyday conversation. The word "your" is correct in the original printed version.

4th bullet

"Chronological order" means moving forward in time. So the first complete sentence under this bullet needs to read, "Ordinarily, iMovie lists your Events in chronological order..." The confusion is compounded because the Event Library listing shown on the opposing page (p. 61) lists the events in reverse chronological order, not in the default chronological order. Perhaps Figure 2-11 could mention that it's not in the default order.

Delete the word "reverse" in the text in the fourth bullet on p60. The bullet doesn't refer to figure 2-11, so don't worry about making a change to the figure text.

first paragraph

The first paragraph on page five (first edition) says, "The Event Library lists all the video you've ever imported into iMove '09, on all your hard drives."

In contrast, the first paragraph of page fifty says, " your Events list (lower left of the iMovie window) shows every piece of video on your entire mac--even video on other hard drives."

I would suggest that the page fifty text should refer to the Event Library list. It is also factually wrong in saying, " every piece of video ". If that were true, iMovie '09 would be unusable on my systems.

Change the 2nd sentence of para 1 on page 50 to say "The idea here is that your Event Library list (lower left of the iMovie window) shows every piece of video you've ever imported into iMovie--even video on other hard drives."

Page 8, 3rd paragraph. "As it turns out, AVCHD is the same as H.264, which is the video format as Blu-ray... Shouldn't the word "same" be inserted between the and video? Or, change "as" to "of."

Applescript IDVD section p.386-388

The entire section "Applescript iDvd" is worthless because,disappointingly, apple has stopped distributing iDvd companion and all links to download these are dead-ended at a general Mac OSX page- their "discussions" have no info about the subject either. The link in the book (www.apple.com/applescript/archive/idvd) is likewise dead.

Third paragraph under "Aspect Ratios;"

Correct me if I'm wrong, but an aspect ratio of 4:3 would mean that if your TV was 4 feet wide, then it would be 3 feet tall.

No the opposite...unless of course you had it lying on its side. :)
