Remove reference to 64-bit (IA-64) On page 2, in the fourth line of the last paragraph, remove "64-bit (IA 64)". Change: "...with computers that have 32-bit x86, 64-bit (IA-64), and 64-bit extension architecture." To: "...with computers that have 32-bit x86 and 64-bit extension architecture." Windows Vista is designed to run on 32-bit x86 and 64-bit extension architecture. While Windows Vista is not designed to run on 64-bit IA-64 architecture as 64-bit, you can install 32-bit Windows Vista editions on IA-64 systems. On these computers, the 32-bit operating system runs within the 32-bit execution environment, although on a computer with a 64-bit processor. To ensure true 64-bit processing, you should install 64-bit Windows Vista on computers with processors that use 64-bit extension architecture. Computers with processors that use 64-bit extension architecture and 64-bit Windows Vista can use current 32-bit applications and are ready for the 64-bit applications of today and tomorrow. |
