** COMPANION MEDIA (CD) IMPORTANT NOTE **

Dear readers,

Please note that we've discovered that a "packaging" issue has resulted in an error that you will experience throughout the book.

The book and the Lab Environment Build Guide refer to files on the CD in the VMSETUP and PRACTICE FILES folders. Those files are not in the correct location on the CD.

Instead, when you run PFSETUP.EXE, the files are placed into a folder on your computer--by default <My Documents>\Microsoft Press\TK70-667.

This location is incorrect, and scripts used in the Lab Environment Build will fail.

To solve this problem, burn the PRACTICE FILES and VMSETUP folders (that were extracted by PFSETUP) to a new CD. Those two folders should be at the root of the CD.

I sincerely apologize for the error. We are working currently to resolve the problem and we will upload a corrected image of the Companion Media to the O'Reilly site as soon as possible.

My complaint is that the references in the Practice exams are completely wrong.

for example question id 667P_1.3_07 which subject is configuring service application proxy groups, reference is Chapter 6 - Lesson 1 Configuring User profiles and social Networking .

Question ID 667P_3.2_02
regarding Get-SPSiteAdministration applet to determine size of site collection - reference is Chapter 8 Lesson 4 - Implement Access Web services

Is there somewhere where i can get the correct references so i may study the subject of the question.

Note from the Author or Editor:
The references have all been reviewed by the authors and a list of corrected references can be found at cdn.oreilly.com/TK70-667_PracticeTestQuestion_References.zip

Actually, these commands stop the SharePoint timer service, not the Internet Explorer processes. To stop all processes named iexplore, type:
Get-Process iexplore | Stop-Process

To start iexplore agian, type: start iexplore

Note from the Author or Editor:
Replace first sentence:

For example, to stop the SharePoint Timer Service, type the following command:

The opening sentence of the section 'Key terms of chapter 2' on page 104 reads "The following terms were introduced in this chapter". The last line of this section lists the term 'first term'. However, I cannot find the term and/or concept 'first term' in chapter 2. I've searched it electronically as well.

Note from the Author or Editor:
Delete the last bullet "First Term" on p. 104

URL: https://partnerss.contoso.com:443 contains one to many 's' in the host portion of the website. Should be "partners" instead of "partnerss".

Practice file "09_01_Setup.ps1" is not included with the accompanying CD.

Note from the Author or Editor:
We have had production problems with the CD. For the moment, this is the workaround:

Go to http://examples.oreilly.com/9780735638853-files/
Download the CD contents, which come as a ZIP file
Extract the ZIP file to a folder
Move the subfolders 70667TK\Practice Files and 70667\VMSetup to the ROOT of the folder ... in other words, these two folders should be at the same level as "Build Guide" and "Practice Answers."
Burn a CD of the resulting folder structure.

In sum, the file you indicate *is* in the companion media zip file available for download but you must make the Practice Files and VMSetup folders *root* folders of the CD.

I am working with O'Reilly to correct this latest bug on the CD.
