1st paragraph

When describing the previous command on page 15, the author states that he used "a shell glob that matches all of the data files." However, he did not use a shell glob in that example, instead the command only specified one file. The shell glob was used in the prior example, which he is not explaining in this paragraph.

If the first range were D800-DBFF and the second DC00-DCFF, there would be only 18 bits total--not enough to cover 10000-10FFFF.

In fact, the second range is DC00-DFFF.

code examples

The Python code as written in the Python interpreter is not properly indented for the definition of functions on pages 58, 59, and 60 or the while loop on page 65. This mistake is not made in other O'Reilly texts, e.g. see page 18 of Programming Python 4th ed.

2nd paragraph

Second sentence in second paragraph reads "that it is could never be cleaned...". Probably mean "that it could never be cleaned..."

2nd paragraph

Text reads "Value X should equal 1, but in in your structure..." Probably only want one "in" in that sentence.

2nd paragraph

The second to last sentence in the 2nd paragraph on page 148 reads: "When one accepts that imperfection, it opens up the ability to integrate data into all supports of projects and policies." I believe it should read: "When one accepts that imperfection, it opens up the ability to integrate data into all sorts of projects and policies."

Change the word supports to sorts.

4th paragraph

The word "is" is repeated twice in the first sentence of the 4th paragraph on page 149. The context does not call for two instances of "is". You should delete one instance.

2nd para

This sentence is broken: "Specifically, I wanted to know: do the arguments that academics, officials, politicians and the public align."

Maybe "arguments that" should be "opinions of"?

bear-claw tip

http://github.com/timClicks/baddata/ is 404. http://github.com/timClicks/ works, but does not contain the _Bad Data_ "Web Framework Backed by Files" implementation as far as I can see.

2nd paragraph of Colophon on last page

The description of the cover photo mentions the "Cananda Goose" and I think it should be "Canada Goose" in the parenthetical list at the end of the second paragraph.
