first paragraph

Contrary to what the book says, a cursor does not appear, and typing cannot be done in a new document, until a div tag is inserted.

Also, throughout the book it is suggested that it is possible to click and drag to select multiple text paragraphs, but this does not work on my iMac (running Mavericks and Dreamweaver CC), nor does it help to use the shift or command keys. I can only select multiple paragraphs in code view (or split screen) by highlighting the relevant code. I'm a very long-time Mac user, so believe me, I tried every way of clicking and dragging to no avail.

Frist Paragraph

As of July 7th, 2014, (when I attempted to follow these steps), Advanced CSS Menu Light will not install, due to licensing problems (according to the Adobe CC Extension Manager).

Last paragraph of Step 1

The text reads, "At the end of the last paragraph on the page, in the section with the headline "All Natural Ingredients" ...

The last paragraph on the page is under the headline, "Technology Meets Good Nutrition", rather than "All Natural Ingredients".

I am going to go with the "All Natural Ingredients".

Step 10

May be a bug with my CC, but when I hover over the link the underline does not disappear in Live View.

When I use Safari, Explorer, Google, Firefox, or Opera the underline does disappear on hover.

Step 3

The 2nd sentence directs the reader to "Click Select (Choose) ...

There is no "Choose" command to click on. At this point (after the correct folder is locate and highlighted) the action is "Select Folder" at the bottom of the screen.

Step 5. Last sentence of the paragraph.

There is no Save option. Select Folder should be clicked then Save.

Step 11

I may be missing something here but Step 11 seems redundant to Step 10.

Step 7

The Update From Original button does not appear in the upper left hand corner of the image. It appears to the right of Properties Panel - Edit next to Edit Image Settings.

The warning is in the upper left hand corner of the image but it is not yellow.

Step 11. Last sentence.

I am making this entry in case a correction is really needed. The sentence mentions that at this point in the procedure the ul area is filled with little green boxes.

I did not experience this.

Probably something I did wrong but again, in case I did not I thought I would mention it.

Step 15

I've had ALOT of difficulty achieving the end result on page 481. Below are some things I noticed.

1. The step says to type .sidebar . sidebar does not appear in the html or css However, aside does.

As a result there is no class named sidebar and therefore what would have been the aside is never styled.

Step 4

I suspect I may be missing something but I had to add 558px to left margin of .nav to move it to the right.

Step 4

I had to add to .nav margin-left: 775px; to move the reservations button to the right.

Step 7

Reads "reservations" (with an "s") in the CSS and in the html without the "s".

Step 3, 4th para, last sentence

The tooltip does not display the name of the selector that wins the battle.

Step 4, last sentence before Figure 12-15

jquery-mobile folder was not created.

When I downloaded the latest version of jquery I unzipped the file into a folder named jquery-mobile folder I created.

Step 4, last sentence before figure 12-15

This is of course related to the previous suggestion.

It would be very useful to mention that at this point the reader should have already created a site to be working in.

Step 4, last para before Figure 12-15

A third clarification of this page for Windows

It would be helpful to mention that the jquery-mobile folder is created in:

Adobe/Adobe Dreamweaver CC 2014/configuration/Third Party Source Code

and

in the case where the reader wants to upgrade jQuery Mobile to the latest and greatest version (which is likely) it is the files that are in this folder that need to be replaced and of course the files in the html you mentioned.

Before Step 1

It could prove useful to direct the reader to create a new site for this tutorial as Step 1.

Step 6

Pressing Ctrl+A and typing anything in the tab deletes the href along with the text when new data is entered. Clicking in the tab title Tab 1 and carefully deleting it character by character and entering new text works.

Step 5

This is not a suggestion for a correction but I just thought I would suggest you at the following as an example of implementing a common effect.

The common effect is fading a photo into a page, having it stay there, then clicking on the photo and it hides.

A quick procedure.

1. Create DIV
2. Insert image in DIV.
3. Create ID# for image.
4. Create selector in CSS designer for the ID and set Display to None.
5. Go to Behaviors - Effects - Fade.
6. Add the following behaviors:

onClick hide
onLoad hide
onLoad show

7. After adding these go back in and edit the listed behaviors to make sure the onClick and onLoad parms are as above. Be sure they are listed in the above order.
8. Test.
9. Smile.

Step 6 NOTE

The text says that if I want the check boxes side by side I should choose line breaks. As I thought, choosing line breaks stacked the check boxes instead.

My error re yellow balloon. However, if for some reason the yellow balloon does not appear go to Site, Manage Sites, choose site, edit site, advanced options, File View Columns and verify that status of Show under the Show column does does not say hide. If so, click on it to change.

Step 1 under Advanced Optional Regions on page 854

This step directs the reader to see Figure 20-16 which is on page 857. I think the correct figure is Figure 20-15 on page 855.
