Paragraph 4 and 5

Hi Sarah,

I hope this finds you well. I'm enjoying your book! Thank you for writing it.

I spotted a slight problem with the online version on SafariBooks online. See below

Kind regards,
@RobKielty

There are three headings for open source tools that are clickable as hrefs but two of the heading links have trailing - characters that make the referenced URLs incorrect and they 404.

I've had to remove the URL protocol specifier part of the Hypertext Reference so that the errata could be submitted.

SVGO
href is github.com/svg/svgo-
but should be github.com/svg/svgo

The SVG Editor
href is petercollingridge.appspot.com/svg-editor-
but should be petercollingridge.appspot.com/svg-editor

There are no files that accompany this book. I have just spent at least four hours trying to make Ms. Drasners fig.1-1 code work for me with the viewbox changes. I finally did a test of three file types, and only the html file in MS Edge works as expected. Ms. Drasner gives no indication how her code should be deployed.

I think the straight line and diagonal line code examples are transposed. The graphic shows a straight line first, then diagonal. But the order of the code lists a diagonal line then straight line.

Just got to page 10 and NOW it says svg inline is preferred. This should have been stated at the beginning.

IF you put the class .ball on the <svg> with a <circle> child, THEN you get a black circle within another circle that changes color. Try it on her codepen - https://codepen.io/sdras/pen/c00ac22c90b9232a7c5631a8158b48c1

To get the black circle within a changing square of color you have to give it another class name w/ just the animation and not the other .ball attributes.

I'm tired. I'm going to take a break.
