I'm very curious to have some references for the algorithm presented in the subsection titled "Inverting Matrices Using Graphs". Right now, only the algorithm is provided, with no further reference for more details

I’m confused by a statement in Chapter 4 and wonder if it is not an error:

This is guaranteed to decrease the gradient if the step size , also called the learning rate, is not too large:
While I think this is true, since it is dealing with convex functions, and the gradient should decrease toward the minimum, but given the rest of the section on the learning rate, I suspect that the author meant to say that “it’s guaranteed to decrease the loss” or the “value of L(…)”… not the gradient of the loss.
