When I entered just the alt tag, as suggested in the exercise, I had not pop-up box on mouse hover.

Text needs to clarify that the alt pop-up box only appears if the image does not (as in a screen reading environment or a faulty image URL). The results described by the text require that a "title" tag follow the alt tag, using the same syntax, as below:

title="Apples on tree"
