  1. Boiling Frogs — GCHQ paper that identifies and examines critical business characteristics that promote business and technical agility, describing how organisations need “less of” some characteristics and “more of” others. Rather than changing one of these characteristics in isolation, we believe that organisations need to improve holistically, not in terms of a binary step change, but in terms of force-multiplying cohesive change. Relevant to every org in this Next:Economy world wondering what it needs to do to stay relevant in a world where everything’s driven by tech, including org structure and practices.
  2. Animal Training AIThe researchers’ algorithm allowed the virtual dog to understand the tricky meanings behind a lack of feedback — called implicit feedback.

  4. Decentralized Web SummitLocking the Web Open.
  5. The Tao of Dao: The Autonomous Corporation is Already Here (TechCrunch) — crowdfunding a corporation whose bylaws are written in code. In exchange for supporting The DAO financially (in the form of Ether), backers get DAO tokens, which they can then use to vote on the direction of the organization. They can use their tokens to vote on big governance issues (akin to traditional shareholders) but also on minute details of how The DAO spends its resources. In this way, token holders have total control over The DAO’s assets and its actions. Interesting step in the direction of the code corporations Charlie Stross posited in Accelerando.
