the irradiator system, evaluating shielding materials, collimation, and source-
to-subject distance, for the measurement of total body nitrogen (TBN). Based
on internal ux distributions within the simulated body region of a subject,
several design options were identied. e nal design will be selected based
on the optimization of precision, dose, and exposure time.
Computation of activities induced by 14 MeV neutrons for the elemen-
tal analysis of human tissues, skin, and tooth enamel has been performed by
Khanchi etal. (1994). For planning experiments for neutron activation analysis
