Time for action—installing the necessary SDKs

We have to work with DirectX for managed code. Thus, we must make sure that we have the necessary SDKs installed.

Tip

XNA Framework replaced DirectX for managed code. However, we are only using it to access DirectInput's features.

  1. Download the DirectX Software Development Kit (SDK). The download link for the kit is http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=24a541d6-0486-4453-8641-1eee9e21b282&displaylang=en—file name: DXSDK_Mar09.exe. This SDK includes the set of DirectX DLLs that are required to run DirectX applications.
