Time for action—exporting 3D models from DCC tools to Silverlight

Now, we are going to display the ASE 3D model, exported from Blender in a Silverlight application with help of Balder, using an image texture:

  1. Open the 3DInvadersSilverlight project.
  2. Right-click on the Assets folder and select Add | Existing item... from the context menu that appears.
  3. Go to the folder in which you saved the new 3D model, including the link to the texture, in the ASE format (C:\Silverlight3D\Invaders3D\3DModels\SPACESHIP01). Select the new ASE file (Ship01_texture01.ase) and click on Add.
  4. Click on the ASE file added in the previous step. Change its Build Action property to Resource.
  5. Right-click on the Assets folder and select Add | Existing item... from the context menu ...
