Time for action—adding screens to organize the game

Now, we are going to improve the game's initial screen using Expression Blend.

  1. Open the project 3DInvadersSilverlight in Expression Blend.
  2. Double-click on MainPage.xaml in the Projects palette.
  3. Draw a Canvas aligned to the LayoutRoot Grid's borders. You can draw a Canvas by clicking on the Grid button in the Toolbox and selecting the Canvas icon from the graphical context menu that appears, as shown in the following screenshot:

  4. Set its name to cnvMainScreen.
  5. Expand Layout and set the following values for its Margin related properties:
    • Left: 0
    • Right: 0
    • Up: 0
    • Bottom: 0
  6. Click on Brushes | Background | Gradient ...
