Welcome to Chapter 5. In previous chapters, we talked about opening CAD files and mesh files in Fusion 360, checking for errors, and repairing them. We also covered how to edit CAD and mesh files with design for additive manufacturing principles in mind. We highlighted how to lightweight parts using automated modeling and shape optimization and simulate them to make sure that they can withstand the operating loads and boundary conditions. We also covered how to lightweight parts using hollowing and latticing methods to reduce both the amount of material and energy required. In this chapter, we will focus on taking those models out of Fusion 360 to third-party slicers.
