Scheduling, Link Adaptation, and Hybrid ARQ
Abstract
Channel-dependent scheduling, link adaptation, and hybrid ARQ with soft combining are three basic techniques that are useful for handling rapid variations in the instantaneous radio-link quality in a mobile-communication system. The basics of these techniques are covered in this chapter, while the details on their implementation in LTE are discussed in later chapters.
