to cruel, critical, humiliating, or provocative comment.
Ideally, this activity should follow Activity 35.
OBJECTIVES By the end of this activity, participants will:
Be aware of the difference between a criticism that
is directed against an action, conduct, or
performance and a “put-down” that is a negative
value judgment about an individual and her/his
personality, thoughts, attitudes, or beliefs.
Have practiced responding to put-downs in a
constructive way, affirming a positive self-image.
PARTICIPANTS 3 to 20 participants
TIME 1½ to 2 hours
