36. ZONE FOCUSING
IF YOU TAKE scale focusing from the previous section and factor in depth of field, you get zone focusing. This system enables you to estimate the range of an in-focus area from near to far. In other words, it’s an easy way to set up a zone where everything will be in focus.
For this to work, you will first need a lens with a focusing scale. This will let you know exactly where the focus point will be. You will also need a depth-of-field scale on your lens so that you can see your resulting depth of field.
