The decentralization movement picked up speed because of Bitcoin. Decentralized applications, decentralized autonomous organizations, decentralized governance, and more verticals of decentralization, have emerged in the past few years. Irina Bolychevsky, a digital strategist and decentralized technology expert, wrote in her blog post that decentralization is a powerful way to tackle the problems of digital monopolies, growing inequality, and loss of autonomy in our societies. Ms. Bolychevsky also mentioned that decentralization incentivizes the distribution of power across users on the network.1
