Abstract
Part B examines challenges we face in reforming how we deal with an aging society and with providing decent universal healthcare. Building on the previous discussion, we will see how both our retirement and healthcare systems have become financialized by private interests. Again, finance is the big barrier to reforming how we deliver retirement income and healthcare on a universal basis. We will examine in turn the Social Security System, the (largely) private pension system, and the (largely) private for-profit health insurance system.
