The case study concerns a sponsorship-type model where an institution funds the activity ostensibly for the greater good but, in consequence, enjoys non-financial benefits – not least increased prestige – that justify the resource allocation, though the actual level is at a low marginal cost add-on to the institution’s own core activity.
