Appendix 2 Project planning summary

This appendix illustrates how the examples from the publication can be pulled together into the project plan, indicating where and how the techniques are used. The summary helps you to build a ‘story’, which can be shared with the stakeholders as the plan develops.

A2.1 Introduction

This is where you can put a few paragraphs to explain what the business drivers are, and why the project is moving forward at this time.

A2.2 Overarching objective

With so much information available it is sometimes easy to lose sight of the project’s purpose, so it is often helpful to have some simple statement of the overarching objective, sometimes called a charter, vision or mission.
